❌ Content We Cannot Remove
To set proper expectations, here are types of content that typically cannot be removed from Google Search
Negative Reviews (Unless Fake/Harassing)
Why: Truthful reviews are protected speech. We cannot remove legitimate negative reviews unless they contain doxxing, fake information, or specific policy violations.
Truthful News Articles
Why: Legitimate journalism is protected. We cannot remove accurate news coverage, even if it's negative or embarrassing, unless it violates specific privacy policies.
Public Records (Usually)
Why: Most public records (court documents, business filings, etc.) cannot be removed from Google as they serve the public interest, unless sealed by court order.
Content You Published Yourself
Why: Content you voluntarily posted online. You must remove it at the source first before requesting Google delisting.
Public Figures (Higher Bar)
Why: Public interest outweighs privacy for public figures, officials, and celebrities in most cases. Newsworthy information is protected.
Opinion & Commentary
Why: Opinions, criticism, and commentary are protected speech and cannot be removed unless they contain provable false statements of fact.
General 'Reputation Management'
Why: We cannot remove content simply because it makes you look bad. Content must violate specific Google policies to qualify for removal.
